Additional Details - Changes in the Skills Evaluation Process:
The mandatory skills evaluation process that all Cadet (grades
5, 6) and Junior (grades 7, 8) Players must participate in has
been changed for the following reasons:
- CYBL now has all coaches do an evaluation of their players
at the end of the previous season and these evaluations are
used as the starting point for putting teams together for
the following season.
- MANDATORY SCRIMMAGES have been added to the evaluation process.
Cadet and Junior players, boys and girls, will be contacted
before these scrimmages and told when to show up and who to
report to.
As stated above, the teams they are assigned to for these
scrimmages may or may not be the final teams that they will
play for. Division Directors and coaches will assess the strengths
and weaknesses of the initial teams as formed and every attempt
will be made to re-assign players based on the goal of having
a balanced program.
Please try not to make special requests for assignment
of your son or daughter, as honoring those requests will make
the creation of balanced teams by Division Directors a more
difficult process.
